ZURICH CHALLENGES
FASS is really lucky to again have had several challenges chosen by the Zurich Cares Programme. The staff at Zurich have chosen to raise funds and help to organise events for the siblings of the autistic children in FASS to give them some time out and a lot of fun.
The events for this year include a trip to Paultons Park, tickets for the Ice Skating show at the Gosport ice rink.
We also went on a trip to Chessington World of Adventures with a team from Zurich Cares.
Laserquest
There will be a siblings (and parents) night out sponsored by Zurich Cares on Saturday 21st November at Playzone, Cosham. Zurich have booked the whole place solely for FASS siblings to make it a really special night. There will be a supper of hot food provided at the end. Please make sure you wear long trousers and preferably a long-sleeve top. The evening will consist of game-rest-game-rest-game-food! A parent from each family can join in so come along and have a go. Parents not attending game will need to be on site. Arrive at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. Further details from Susie Maddy on 07900297267.
Ice Skating
A great time was had by all at the FASS/Zurich Skating on Ice Party in November!
Go Bowling
Bowling events have been a huge success for FASS. The date of the next family bowling session will appear on the Diary page. For further details please contact Susie on 07900 297267.
Due to the popularity of FASS bowling sessions we have booked an extra one for Sunday 27th December 2009. You will not receive a flyer for this event, so if you would like to come please download a flyer by clicking here. Print out the flyer, complete your details and send it to Susie by 4th December 2009.
HORSE RIDING
The Hampshire Riding Therapy Centre Ltd is a unique centre providing counselling, therapy, education and riding for young people with special needs, children and their siblings. FASS are offering members discount riding rates through vouchers. Each voucher costs £5 (instead of the usual £15). Vouchers are currently limited to one voucher per child. You will be responsible for contacting the riding centre and booking your own place once you have received your FASS voucher. It will be necessary to provide your child's age and weight when booking a place. Please be reassured that the staff at the riding centre are very helpful and understanding. This is a great opportunity to let your children try horse riding in a safe and friendly environment.
We are currently looking at alternative riding stables closer to Fareham as several families feel that the Hampshire Riding Therapy Centre is too far away. If anyone already goes riding at a stables near Fareham and would recommend them please do let us know.
HORIZONE
FASS members are welcome to join us at Horizone Soft Play, Havant Leisure Centre, Civic Centre Road, Havant.
These sessions run from 6:30pm until 8:00pm and are for FASS members only. A voluntary contribution of £3 per child (for the first two children per family and £1.50 per child for any further children) would be appreciated to ensure that further sessions can be booked. Please note that parents are responsible for their children at all times.

Fun City
FASS also hires FUN CITY (part of Soccer City behind Fareham Sainsbury's) for private sessions.

MONKEY BIZNESS SOFTPLAY
The first FASS session at Monkey Bizness went so well that we have booked more sessions.
These session will run along similar lines to Horizone events. i.e. There is no need to book, you can just turn up on the night and pay (voluntary contributions of £3 per child for the first two children in a family and £1.50 per child for any further children would be appreciated). You are responsible for your children at all times. Please note that Monkey Bizness has five fire exits so any child who might try to "escape" needs to be watched at all times. STEAM TRAIN TRIPS
You can find the date of the next stream train trip on the Alton Alresford Watercress Steam Train Line will be on the Diary page. Please contact Susie Maddy on 07900297267 for further details or to book places on the train.
FASS hires an entire carriage of the train so that our kids can be themselves and enjoy the trip.
CHRISTMAS EVENTS
Thanks to Susie and the committee for organising loads of great trips and events for last Christmas. We all enjoyed Cinderella at the Mayflower Theatre, skating on ice with FASS/Zurich, and Trigger the Train with Father Christmas.
We have already organised further trips for this Christmas.
Sibling night out to the GOSPORT ICE SHOW to see Santa's Journey on Sunday 20th December 6:00 – 7:45pm. Donations are £2 a seat. This is a first-come-first-served event sponsored by Zurich Challenge. To find out more contact Susie on 07900 297267.
There is another sibling night out sponsored by Moose International to see Santa Claus and the return of Jack Frost at the MAYFLOWER THEATRE on Tuesday 15th December 7:00 – 10:00pm. Tickets are £10. Again these are on a first-come-first-served basis. Contact Susie for more information 07900 297267.
MONKEY WORLD
On Sunday 10th May, we had a trip to Monkey World for FASS siblings and some parents. A big thank you to Moose who sponsored this trip. We all had a great day out.
